TRAINING COMPLEX
The State Headquarters of Orissa State Bharat Scouts and Guides located at the center of the temple city of Bhubaneswar, the Capital of Orissa. Bhubaneswar is known for its rich ancient cultural and historical heritage. The Lingaraj Temple, the abode lord Shiva is the spiritual heart-thurb of the city and nearby hillock Dhauli is historically known for the famous Kalinga War. Besides, the Khandagiri, Udayagiri hills and river Daya speak of legends of history and add to the religious and spiritual temper of the Capital City. The Headquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides is adjacent to the famous Sri Rama Mandir and can be reached from Rly. State which is hardly 1k.m. away and main Bus stand which is only 7 kms away. It is also linked by air service and distant from airport only 5 kmts.

PROFILE OF THE STATE HEADQUARTERS
The State Head-quarters complex is a unique architectural design of U shaped structure with rich greenery provided by flowering trees which provide an impressive canopy to the public view. It is this sprawling campus which provides excellent infrastructure to hold all activities of Bharat Scouts and Guides. This complex comprises a Conference Hall, Kitchen Block, Self Employment Cell, Guest House, Stage and Gallery, Equipment Store House, Library Room with Reading Corner. Separate Sanitation Block for Gents and Ladies, Administrative Block, Training Hall, Co-operative Bank, Staff Quarters, L.I.C. Branch Office, STD Booth, Canteen etc. In nutshell, it is a self sufficient multi purpose campus providing infrastructure facilities of all activities and programmes in all seasons.

The very entrance to the State Headquarters Complex smells of ideals of Scouts and Guides. The massive iron gate of the campus incorporates in its body the noble message and sacred motto of the organisation. It is a campus of beauty and grace providing much needed peace and tranquility to hold noble activities of a organisation

CONFERENCE HALL

A Conference hall of 22’x40’ size is erected on the southern side of the ground with venyle flooring. This descent looking hall well decorated with photographs of all leading luminaries of the State reflects its aesthetic glamour with its well furnished modes of various projects and up dated audio visual accessories. It has its own 100 chairs and 16 long tables for conducting various activities like seminars, symposium, workshops, study circles and youth forum classes and other meets. This hall is soul of the complex wherein intense voluntarism and service activities as enshrined in motto and objective of Bharat Scouts and Guides are aroused, regulated and expanded through brotherly assembly of Scouts and Guides of the State.

COOKING CORNER

Adjacent to the conference hall there is a cooking corner consisting of store room, kitchen room with serving base. The most salient feature of this corner is the wide spread dining place scattered over open front garden under each shady tree giving opportunity to all Scouts and Guides a rare experience of sharing the joys of picnic. This arrangement of natural dinning place with cemented benches not only delivers pleasure of picnic like taste, but reminds us of sweet memory of Scouting as envisioned by Baden Powell. For camps and Training purpose the corner provides facilities of cooking equipments and utensils for 500 participants.

GUEST HOUSE
It is a double storied well equipped building with three suit facilities. Since inception of its building it has been a centre of attraction for outsiders of Scout and Guide family in view of this safe, secure, hygienic, vocational and disciplined aspects. Not only its marginal charges for its accommodation but also its well management and equipped with all facilities proves its worthiness for boarding and lodging.

SELF EMPLOYMENT CELL

This hall is of 15’x30’ size and it is adjacent to dining place. This hall is dedicated exclusively for self employment activities such as food nutrition, cooking and tailoring, Orissan handicrafts. This hall is always Jam-packed with these activities all through the year proving itself, an asylum for those who want to acquire skill of self dependence through self employment.

SANITATION BLOCK

There are two separate sanitation blocks for Scouts and Guides with sufficient lavatories and bath room facilities. Supply of water runs 24 hours an it has been catering disinfected drinking water (Aqua guard and filtered) for campers.

ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING
In the northern side the main administrative block is functioning with its major sectional heads and office staff and sophisticated with facilities of two computers, HAM section, up to date type machines, duplicating machine, Electronic type machine, Fax, Xerox and telecommunication facilities for day to day functioning of the State Headquarters.

STORE
Store room is a reservoir of all sorts of training gears and camping equipments. They are carefully kept under the custody of a responsible store keeper. These are being utilised not only for State Headquarters functions but also in the camporees and other ceremonial functions organized by districts and the State.

SCOUT BHAWAN

It is a long hall having size 235’x39’ located in the eastern side of the complex some part of it presently being utilized of LIC Counters

JAMBOREE HALL
The first floor of the Scout Bhawan is dedicated in the memory off 3^rd SAARC and 13^th National Jamboree. District base function arise assemble here to plan out for proposed celebrations of the year.

LIBRARY
The library of SHQ is solemnly named after late Pt. R.N. Mishra, the founder Secretary of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Orissa whose immense contribution and dedicative involvement has elevated the Scouting organization of the State to such growing status of living stature of eminence by its pervasiveness in every nook and corner of the State. In the living memory of late Sj. Mishra whose ideology and guidance always remain as an imperishable memories to all Scouts and Guides to follow. This library room is replete with reference books, complete literatures of diversified aspects, records relevant for training, etc.

STAGE AND GALLERY

In the eastern side of the complex there is a beautiful decorated gallery of semicircular shape which accommodates 500 participants. This is separated by a grassy lane profusely scattered from the stage and for conducting various programmes, campfire and related ceremonies of Bharat Scouts and Guides.

TRAINING COMPLEX

It is a broad platform encompassing an open pace surrounded by rose garden and different kinds of attractive species of plants and trees in a natural setup. Its enchanting fairy look coupled with prominent structure of cemented platforms of training grounds cordially embraces campers, Scout masters, Guide Captains and personnel’s intimately associated with Bharat Scouts and Guides.

SMRUTIPITH
A prominent place is ear-marked for Smrutipitha in the northern side of the complex with a view to upkeep the reminiscence of old veterans of State Bharat Scouts and Guides. It is a sacred place of upholding essence of all religious and infusing universal and spiritual appeal in the minds of Scouts and Guides. Very often ALL FAITHS PRAYER meetings are also conducted in this smrutipitha area.

STATE TRAINING CENTRE
In addition to all these the State Head Quarters is having Training Complex area of five acres near the historic Barunei hill of Khurda. It is also dedicated for organizing adventure activities like Rock-climbing, Night-Scouting, Trekking, Para-Sailing and other relevant activities aimed at instilling confidence and infusing adventurous spirit in progressive minds of Scouts and Guides.

The state is also having regional Training Centre at Bhanjpur, near Baripada in the District of Mayurbhanj, Badagaon ITI, Sundargarh Govt. PM Shree High School, Kutra, Sundararh

 Besides this following districts are having Scout/Guide Bhawan and Training Complexs.

Kendrapara, 12 Jamukoli (Khurda), 13. Sirei (Puri), 14. Dhenkanal, 15. Kalahandi, 16.Kandhamal, 17.Baragaion, 18.-Rourkela, 19. Cuttack Sadan, 20. Sambalpur, 21.Angul and other Districts are under process to construct Scout/Guide Bhawans and Training Complexs.

A Canteen – for Scouts, Guides and other members run inside the Head Quarter Complex.

SUPPLY SERVICE COUNTER
It is an information house with all sorts of updated literatures, Scouts and Guides books, magazines, charts, hand outs, first aid materials and Scouts Guides information books. It goes down to help the new Scouts and Guides, their guardians and also district officials. It decimates Scouting psychology and spirit. Besides printing handouts and other materials for youths and adult leaders, is also supplying equipment, souvenir items, badges etc., to the members of the Movement. It also runs a Self employment counter by rovers.

Youths of the age of 14-35 years are eligible to undertake these activities. The programme includes trekking, camping, night scouting, star gazing, backwoodsman cooking, bridge building, shelter making, mountaineering, encountering obstacles, path finding and many more adventure activities.

Image & Visibility : The Public Relations Deptt. is looking after publicity and visibility of the Movement through Press, T.V. and Radio. It arranges exhibition, Press Conferences, Photo displays, Painting competitions etc. The Magazine and the report published by the state branch contains information about the activities right from the grass root level to the State, National and International events.
